MarketSynopsis is a response to a rather poorly-covered aspect of the American market:  that of detecting trends, seasonal and otherwise, short-term and longer-term, industry-based and otherwise, using a more "scientific" methodology (i.e. statistics-based) than most stock market-oriented media services.

We won't be so pompous as to claim that we offer our services for the joy of increasing efficiency and information flow in the market.  However, we wouldn't be lying to say that we do derive a good deal of satisfaction by occasionally exposing some of the underlying mechanisms in the otherwise chaotic mess known as the American stock market.

MarketSynopsis.com began as a spinoff of Stockwarrants.com in 2002.  Initially, the service was funded by subscribers, but in September of 2007 we switched over to an advertising model.  If you appreciate the unique (and free!) information contained within the site, please let your friends know about the site...maintaining MarketSynopsis requires serious effort!

Our webmaster, Ken Hodge, has a degree in biochemistry from the University of California.  In addition to manning two websites (this, and stockwarrants.com), he has worked as a programmer, chemist...and building contractor!  As an investor, he has had the experience of being burned by both the market and any number of stock newsletters that purport to offer better than average returns.  By combining a scientific background with real-world investment experience, we hope we can offer a no-nonsense investment site with truly useful information.

Numerous other individuals have also made contributions in terms of programming, site development, and market expertise...our thanks to all!
