Below we offer tables that show the best risk-adjusted predictors of open to close behavior of stocks from Feb of 2001 to June of 2005.

Do not look at the figures in red as estimates of gains and losses.  As always with our risk-adjusted tables, we divide gains and losses by the volatility of the stocks in question.  Thus a non-volatile stock with a nice gain is "better" than a volatile stock with the same nice gain.

It might seem that the concept of "risk-adjustment" wouldn't apply to day-trading strategies.  We wouldn't make that assumption.

You won't see many surprises in the tables below by comparing them to our non-risk-adjusted tables.  One small oddity...an industry group (banks) appears as a group that has fared well in regular trading hours over the last 4.5 years.
